Trends in Continuum Mechanics is an international workshop celebrating the 85th birthday of Paolo Podio-Guidugli and his longstanding contributions to continuum mechanics and applied mathematics.

The programme brings together leading scholars working on theoretical, computational, and applied aspects of mechanics, with topics ranging from optimal growth theories and nonlinear composite materials to biomechanics, viscoelastic fluids, wave control, and mechanobiology.

The workshop aims to foster scientific discussion across different areas of continuum mechanics while honoring Paolo Podio-Guidugli’s influence on generations of researchers in the field.
